Easily recognisable by its 1938 “fencer’s mask” grille, this impressive 8-cylinder Pontiac is a European version which was sold new in France, as evidenced by its Import plate and specifications. It was discovered by its previous owner in 1993 while it was residing in Seine-et-Marne since 1972. The latter then had a full restoration carried out (from the chassis) between 1994 and 1995, as evidenced by a file of invoices. The car was repainted, the cloth upholstery and the cotton-wrapped electrical wiring were completely redone, as well as the engine which was rebuilt. Jean-Pierre Nylin acquired it under the hammer of Maître Poulain in June 1998 during an auction sale at the Palais de Conges. It had a mileage of 1,370 km at that time and now displays 1,443 km on the odometer. This statutory limousine has not been driven for more than 15 years; it will need to be put back on the road and get a complete overhaul.

Buyers are informed that all vehicles in the collection have seen limited use in recent years, having been part of a museum display. They are therefore sold as-is, require restarting, are not covered by a valid roadworthiness inspection, and will need full recommissioning before being driven on public roads.
