- Sold new in France by Garage Mirabeau
- Matching numbers, originally Goodwood Green
- Only 165 Series 3 produced
Built from April to September 1961 in only 165 examples, the series 3 is one of the scarcest DB4 series. It differs little from its predecessor, with the exception of the rear light clusters, on a chrome plate. As the brand registers confirm, chassis DB4/711/L was delivered on 9th June 1961 to Garage Mirabeau, the official Aston Martin dealership in Paris. It came in “Goodwood Green” with a black leather interior. Options included an oil cooler and chrome wire wheels. According to history, this DB4 was bought new by a doctor in La Bourboule, Auvergne, before being traded in for a Mercedes by Garage Groine in Clermont-Ferrand. It was from there that the current owner's father bought it in the mid-80s. In a rare state of preservation, the car had been previously repainted in its original colour, and the upholstery has a lovely patina. The engine bears its original factory number: 370/622. We were able to test the car, which is in good mechanical working order, although it will need a complete service as it was only recently restarted. More demanding enthusiasts could restore it with the advantage of a complete base, and the assurance of having a left-hand-drive car sold new in France, in its desirable original colour combination and matching numbers.
It's very rare to find such a project, so make the most of it, as these are some of the last ones in circulation.
