“If I'd designed a 2cv cabriolet myself, I couldn't have done any better”. If you're familiar with Robert Opron's work, you’ll know that his interest in the 2cv Azelle cabriolet, created and approved by Alain le Bihan, was a sign of meticulous craftsmanship. Robert Opron was the famous car designer who designed the Citroën DS after 1967, the SM, the CX and the Renault 25. He fell under the spell of the Azelle, a genuine 2-door cabriolet based on the 2cv. In 2015, he commissioned Ets Le Bihan to produce a model based on the 1990 2cv. He added a few personal touches, such as a rear trunk to accommodate a spare wheel, a wooden steering wheel and comfortable BX Sport seats. In “Meije white”, this elegant cabriolet was homologated at the end of 2020 and did less than 800 km, since Robert Opron passed away on 29 March 2021. Carefully preserved by his wife in a heated garage, the car is now in near-new condition, and we were able to see for ourselves how well it drives. A wonderful rarity, in exceptional condition, and with great provenance for Citroën enthusiasts, this Azelle will turn the heads of connoisseurs and the curious alike.
