This authentic Willys Jeep, from 1943, is remarkable in more ways than one. Without really knowing whether it actually took part in the 101st airborne regiment or Patton's Operation Cobra, it did arrive in France during the World War II. After the war, like many Willys and Fords, it was reused as a fire department car by the commune of Bastogne in Belgium.
When the Fire Captain retired, he was given the Jeep as a gift. He set about restoring it, keeping all its original features and equipment, but touching traces of its history, which can be seen in the few dents in the bodywork. The car was then bought by the talented, famous photographer Mathieu César, who kept it for several years at his home in the West of France. Jean-Pierre Gagick, star presenter of TF1's Automoto program, bought it from him to use in Cannes during the summer. Jean-Pierre Gagick had it serviced at Jeep Village, a leading specialist. In excellent working order, original condition and well-equipped, this Jeep is an exceptional opportunity for collectors or enthusiasts looking for an original way to get from Ramatuelle to Saint-Tropez, for example.
