The Jaguar Heritage certificate for this handsome roadster states that it was sold new on 1 July 1952 in Los Angeles in the USA. It was finished in a splendid shade of ‘Twilight Blue’, with a ‘Duo Blue’ interior and a ‘Gunmetal’-coloured hood. It was exported to England in 1989 and given a full, chassis-up restoration, completed in 1993. A file of photographs shows the care taken over the work, including the engine, which was also noted by the Jaguar specialist Julian Ferraro, who carried out a full inspection of the car in October 2023, and whose report we encourage you to read. Ferraro confirmed the quality of the restoration undertaken 30 years ago and noted the points now requiring service attention, as the car has been little used in recent years. Supplied with a substantial history file, this attractive XK120 has been fitted with a five-speed gearbox for long journeys, as well as an extra electric fan. The restoration undertaken, respecting the car’s unusual original colour combination and keeping its steel wheels, gives it a remarkable appearance which connoisseurs of the model will appreciate.
