- Exceptional pedigree: ex - Sébastien Loeb and currently owned by François Delecour
- The best 997 GT3 RS version, exceptional performances
- Excellent condition, less than 30,000 km from new
In addition to its exceptional features, this Porsche GT3 RS stands out for having been owned successively by two legendary rally drivers: Sébastien Loeb, who acquired it new from Porsche France released from the press fleet, and François Delecour. The first is a nine-time World Rally Champion with an incredible record, registered it on December 15th, 2011, at his Swiss address (a copy of the registration document is in his wife’s name). The second one to whom he sold it in November 2012, his friend François Delecour, WRC vice world champion with several notable victories including the 1994 Monte Carlo rally and a second-place finish in the 1993 championship in a Ford Escort RS. The car was gifted to him for his birthday by his wife Priscille Delecour, herself two-time French Rally Champion. It only had a mileage of 18,500 km at that time, all driven by Sebastien Loeb. The last 10,000 kilometres were completed by Francois Delecour.
This GT3 RS 4.0 is the 31st of 600 examples produced in this series, as evidenced by the plate mounted on the glovebox. It is the most radical model of the 997 GT3 RS; the design appeared in 2007 and had improvements carried out in 2010, before this latest evolution which is the most radical one. In the 390th issue of Flat Six Magazine, Thomas Schenck spoke highly of it: “This car is the absolute holy grail for those who want to combine the “old school” charm of a manual gearbox, the agility of a chassis that is able to bond with its driver and a ferocious engine that represents the pinnacle of its lineage”. In its reviews, the magazine considered it as arguably the best GT3 RS of its generation. Its 4-litre flat-six develops 500 hp and thanks to its lightweight bodywork (wings and bonnet in carbon fibre) and a stripped-down interior, the car weighs only 1,360 kg.
Finished in “Carrera White” colour, this particular example is fitted with black leather and red Alcantara bucket seats, matching the colour of its exterior inscription and all comfort features which enables the occupant to enjoy the drive: PCM (Porsche Communication System) with GPS / radio screen, heating / air conditioning, etc. there is also a roll cage at the back, with the reinforcement autographed by Sebastien Loeb. This same car was also on the cover of Echappement magazine in December 2011, as part of the “Sports Car of the Year” award: this Porsche won the challenge, ahead of nine other contenders.
Serviced by Sonauto at 26,421 km, the car is today in excellent condition with immaculate bodywork and interior, faithful to their original specifications. Extremely rare in this version, it also includes its complete original logbooks and manuals. This is certainly an exceptional opportunity for any enthusiast of the brand: one of the most extreme and desirable road machines of its era, rare and in excellent condition, as well as an exceptional provenance in the hands of two famous rally drivers. The roll cage was also signed by Sebastien Loeb, its first owner! It doesn’t get better than this.
