The example we are presenting has an endearing family history. Its first owner was forced to part with the car when he moved abroad and sold it in the 1970s to the mother of its current lady owner. It was used regularly for a year, then reserved for weekend outings before being put into storage. After being forgotten for many years, this lovely SM was disinterred by the father of the family, an enthusiast and a trained mechanic: he owned as many as 40 vehicles and kept the SM as one of his most cherished models.

He began a restoration of the car, doing the work himself.

After he died, the car was kept carefully, without being driven, and then, in 2020, entrusted to a professional mechanic, who recommissioned it. It was at this time that the valuation report in the car’s history file was prepared. Today, the car is in running order and was presented for its safety inspection in June 2026, but has not been driven regularly for several years. It should therefore be given a general overhaul and the interior cleaned: this is original, with some stitching in need of repair. In an elegant colour and fitted with an optional Continental Edison radio, this SM is an excellent starting point from which to begin enjoying the pleasures of this extraordinary model.
