1972 Maserati Ghibli 4.9L SS coupé
The certificate issued in December 2015 by Maserati S.p.A. confirms that this Maserati Ghibli 4.9-litre SS left the workshops in Modena in September 1972. Its first owner, Sig. Giovannino Ciaburri, who lived in Rome, kept the car until 2014, when it was acquired by Anne Marie Cartozo, also in the Italian capital. In 2015, it was exported to Germany and bought by the Scuderia Sportiva Colonia, in Cologne, who carried out a restoration to a very high standard, documented in a file of photographs, before showing it at the Interclassics Salon in Brussels in 2016, where it won the prize for the ‘Best Car of the 70s’. It was there that the beauty and exceptional condition of this Ghibli 4.9L won over Thierry Dehaeck, who promptly bought it. In September 2017, the car took part in the Chantilly Arts & Élégance event, as part of the ‘Grand Prix des Clubs’, and in January 2026, it featured in the cover story for the French magazine Rétroviseur.
In its original colour of ‘Blu Medio’, the car is today in magnificent condition, with its superbly retrimmed interior in beige leather and its engine which, thanks to the care it has received, runs extremely well. Like all Thierry Dehaeck’s cars, it will be sold with a substantial history file including its brochure, owner’s manual, original registration document, a technical and historical analysis from 1967-1973 by Ruiz/Straub, its FIVA ID card, certificate of origin from Maserati and its Maserati Classiche certification ... Well documented and in immaculate condition, this Ghibli is one of the 425 examples of the 4.9-litre SS, the ultimate and most powerful version, making it the most sought after. Its presentation does justice to its elegant styling by Giorgetto Giugiaro, its luxurious finish and the performance that let it rule the road.
