The launch and commercial release of the Jaguar XK 150 in 1957 fulfilled the increasing demand from customers who wanted a car with a similar design to the XK120 and 140, but with a number of upgrades. The wider gille improved the engine's cooling. Mechanically speaking, the XK150 stood out from the 140, as it included four Dunlop disc brakes (replacing drum brakes, which no longer provided reliable braking performance over long distances). After testing this braking system on C-Type and D-type racing cars, it became clear that the XK150 was the first Jaguar capable of braking effectively without fading and able to cope with modern traffic conditions. Originally from the United States, this particular car was imported to Andorra where it remained in a major collection between 1996 and 2021; the current owner then acquired it and added it to his Parisian collection. The 3.4-litre engine block was replaced at some point in its life with a 3.8-litre power unit and a Moss 4-speed manual gearbox (better suited to mountain driving) was fitted instead of the original automatic gearbox. The starter motor, battery and clutch are recent. The seal between the engine and gearbox has just been replaced. The red leather interior has a lovely patina, just like the rest of this roadster. This is a beautiful XK, now more reliable and ready to drive through the countryside with the wind in your hair.
