Only two owners before Fritz Neuser and just 16.386km from new: this is what makes this genuine De Tomaso GT5 exceptional. According to its original warranty certificate, it was sold on 20 October 1988 to a Sig. Riviecco Tommaso from Reggio Emilia, and registered as BO-B67111. On 15 April 2009, it was sold to a Sig. F. Leonardo from Gambara, who kept the same registration number from the province of Bologna. Then on 14 February 2012, Fritz Neuser, who was won over by the car’s exceptional condition and the documentation accompanying it, acquired it and imported it into Germany.

Today, the De Tomaso’s condition is commensurate with its history, in other words, superb. We have a copy of the original purchase invoice from De Tomaso to the Autosport dealership in Bologna, as well as the sales invoice from Autosport to its first owner. The red paint (Rosso Corsa) is very well applied to the faultless bodywork, while the interior features ivory-coloured upholstery (a special order when the car was new) in ruffled leather, which is even applied to the top of the dashboard, itself finished in varnished wood, as is the steering wheel. The car is fully equipped, with an air-conditioning system and electric windows of particular note. Under the engine cover at the rear, the Ford V8 has a De Tomaso logo and a cover trimmed in black carpet, while the front bonnet still has its soundproofing.

With the aggressive looks conferred by its wheelarch extensions, huge wheels and spoilers, this genuine GT5S, which comes with its owner’s manual, both sets of keys and extensive period documentation, has the advantage of low mileage and ownership: qualities that are extremely rare for this model with its spectacular performance and which deserve the attention of the most demanding buyers.
