- Numerous factory Group 3 parts
- Prepared by renowned specialists
- Valid PTH, eligible for Tour Auto
This De Tomaso Pantera was purchased in 2012 in Belgium by its current owner after being imported from the USA. As a discerning collector, he wanted to transform it into a high-performance car for a mix of circuit/rally use by having it meticulously prepared for Group 3. Thanks to the advice of Santiago De Tomaso (son of the manufacturer), rare factory Group 3 parts and top-level third-party specialists, this racing beast was born; and according to the owner, this car was capable of completing a lap of the Magny Cours circuit in 1'22 with road tyres! A large file of invoices bears witness to the extent of the work, including the restoration of the bodywork and the installation of a FIA-approved roll cage by Vaison Sport. Particular attention was paid to the engine, starting with a 351 Cleveland block prepared by Guy Trigaux, the former workshop manager for the De Tomaso importer in Belgium and Pantera Group 4 racing driver. Achieved with 436 hp and over 50 N.m, the objective was to produce a reliable engine offering power and torque, while being able to idle in high temperatures in a village. The interior was fitted accordingly, skilfully combining some of the original instrumentation with more accurate modern measuring equipment and an intercom system.
Accompanied by its PTH valid until December 2026, this Pantera (which took part in the 2017 Tour Auto) is eligible for numerous racing events and benefited from detailed maintenance at Racelab1, as evidenced by several invoices dating up to 2021. The owner has a second engine, a ZF 5DS 25-1 gearbox and 12 wheel rims available for sale. The careful preparation it benefited from makes it an incredible competitor. The cumulative cost of the restoration and improvements made during testing exceeds the value of the car itself. Take advantage of the work that has been carried out over the last ten years.
