Although Lamborghini is known for its supercars, Ferruccio Lamborghini started out manufacturing tractors. Using decommissioned military equipment, he built his own agricultural machinery, which quickly became a success due to high post-war demand. Taking advantage of subsidies granted to farmers for the purchase of Italian-made equipment, Lamborghini expanded its range and grew into an industrial-scale operation, becoming the country's third-largest tractor manufacturer.
This DL 30-N model is one of the first Lamborghini tractors equipped with a Lamborghini engine, a 31 hp Bosch liquid-cooled twin-cylinder diesel engine connected to a gearbox with a 5-speed forward reduction gear. Featuring its original engine, it comes in its characteristic red and gray colors and is in superb condition thanks to an extremely careful restoration. Particularly rare in this N version with differential lock (only 28 examples are believed to still exist), it comes with a certificate of authenticity from the company FLC, the three letters in the original triangular logo created in 1948, which lists the existing Lamborghini tractors.
Thanks to its presentation, which respects its origins, this is a particularly attractive example of the surprising past of one of the world's most famous and successful sports car brands.
