Comment:

Nesykhonsu was a Theban noblewoman of the 21st Dynasty, daughter of the First Prophet of Amun Smendes II and wife of the High Priest Pinedjem II. She held the titles of “Mistress of the Southern Foreign Lands” and “Viceroy of Kush.” Her mummy and funerary equipment were discovered in 1881 in the royal cache DB320 at Deir el-Bahari, where the priests of Amun had safeguarded royal mummies as well as those of their own family.

This statuette represents one of the possible 36 overseers assigned to supervise the 365 shabtis placed in the tomb of the deceased, intended to perform fieldwork on her behalf in the afterlife.
