- Exceptional original condition
- Recent work
- High-end “Confort” version
- From a major Citroen collection
- No reserve
The “Confort” trim of the ID relates to the high-end version of the model. This particular example is one of them and was registered new in the Nord region on the 2nd July 1959. Finished in “Marron Glace” colour with a green Jersey interior, it has always retained its original registration since its current owner (a major Citroen collector) acquired it from a prominent member of the Ideale DS Nord club. These connoisseurs selected it for its well-preserved condition. The bodywork is indeed in sound condition and largely in its original paint. Interior-wise, only the front seats were reupholstered while the rest of the upholstery remains original. Brakes and suspensions had been replaced by the previous owner; the current owner has had the entire cooling system cleaned during the replacement of the cylinder head gasket and the cylinder head, which now has new valves. The car also features a stainless-steel exhaust system. In good working order, it is equipped with an optional Radiomatic radio, a water temperature gauge and a tow bar. With its many details specific to unrestored examples and its impressive patina, this ID will continue to arouse envy among enthusiasts.
