- Iconic World War II model
- Worthwhile restoration project
- Genuine off-road vehicle
- No reserve
Built in their thousands from 1941, multiple versions of the Dodge WC series were produced according to their destination and intended use. Extremely tough and strongly built, they showed a great aptitude for use in difficult terrain, thanks to their four-wheel drive, and played a decisive part in the success achieved by the US Army. This example was built in 1944, even though the first registration on its registration document is from 1945. It was restored in the past and was bought in December 1999 when it went under Me Poulain’s hammer. The chassis number plates on the dashboard are new and not stamped. This flatbed version with side panels and a tarpaulin cover comes with three jerricans, a spade, pickaxe and gun carrier. The hood and its supporting hoops will need to be repaired, and the Dodge will require recommissioning and a service before taking the road to freedom once again.
Buyers are informed that all vehicles in the collection have seen limited use in recent years, having been part of a museum display. They are therefore sold as-is, require restarting, are not covered by a valid roadworthiness inspection, and will need full recommissioning before being driven on public roads.
