Following the First World War and in addition to its truck production, Delahaye offered a range of automobiles targeted at wealthy customers, which included the Type 87 (the entry-level 10hp model). This particular example features a very interesting torpedo bodywork with a V-shape windshield created by Kelsch, renowned coachbuilder from Levallois-Perret. It was acquired in Normandy by Jean-Pierre Nylin in 2007, during the Musee de la Belle Epoque (Collection Dubec) auction organized by Artcurial. The car was partially restored at that time, which has since remained unfinished and will need to be completed. Some elements of the upholstery are still original, as well as the engine which is also original and equipped with an electric ignition. With its gorgeous wooden wheels, this elegant Torpedo deserves to be restored before enabling its new owner to drive this unusual vehicle, known as a milestone of automotive design in the early 1920s. The registration document mistakenly states that it was first registered in 1962.

Buyers are informed that all vehicles in the collection have seen limited use in recent years, having been part of a museum display. They are therefore sold as-is, require restarting, are not covered by a valid roadworthiness inspection, and will need full recommissioning before being driven on public roads.
