Only 1,267 examples of this first version of the 911 S were built in 1967. Its Porsche certificate of authenticity states that it was delivered new in Germany on 16 March 1967, in “Polo” red with black leatherette interior and Pepita pattern fabric. It is fitted desirable options such as Recaro sports seats and fog lamps.

The dossier of invoices, documents and photos, including a letter from Jonathan Lee, a former owner of this 911 from 1991, tells the story of this 911. Mr Lee explains the purchase and restoration, both by renowned specialist Gary Kempton (GK Restorations) in Florida. The full restoration lasted a decade. 25 years after his purchase and 10,000 km later, Mr Lee sold his 911 back across the Atlantic. The current owner, a collector and Porsche fan, bought it from AVL Motors in Rennes in 2021. He thought long and hard about which 1967 911 S model to buy, and this historically significant and authentic example naturally caught his attention. A partial restoration was done, including a complete repaint in superb Slate Grey, some body panels were replaced, the underbody treated, it received a full mechanical check-up and some work to upgrade the interior. The work was carried out by Atelier Gobin at a cost of over €26,500 and was completed in August 2024.

This rare matching numbers 911 S, has a well-documented history and has undergone recent work, leaving it in a desirable condition today, for the most demanding enthusiasts.
