This MG A is definitely the most famous and glamorous car on the Côte d'Azur! It was bought by the artist and actor Max Cartier and registered on 24 April 1957 with the numberplate 109 ES 06. A few days later he lent it to the (still unknown) Alain Delon, who made his debut at the Cannes Film Festival, in the company of Jean-Claude Brialy. There is a series of photos from this era, given to the current owner by Max Cartier. This lovely MG was kept by the actor and used whenever he came to the Côte d'Azur, where he rented an apartment with a garage at the Neptune in Nice. On the set of the movie Christine, Romy Schneider and Alain Delon fell in love in 1958, and the young couple went everywhere in their MG A, as shown in another period photo. Delon kept the car until shortly after the filming of La Piscine, when it was (finally) returned to its rightful owner. The current owner's neighbour bought it in 1987 from Max Cartier. He did a full restoration, during which he realized that the car had a more powerful and torquey MG B engine, which has remained with it ever since. In the hands of its current owner since 2015, this MG has been regularly serviced since its early restoration. Slip aboard and jump right back into a light, carefree era, in a car that saw the birth of an immense actor, and the start of one of cinema's most emblematic romances.
