D'après les documents qui accompagnent la voiture, le compteur affichait 46 000 miles en 1978 et 49 820 en 2012, ce qui témoigne du faible usage dont elle a fait l'objet. Elle a été achetée il y a cinq ans par son actuel propriétaire, qui a fait procéder à une remise en route chez le spécialiste reconnu Top Motors, à Nonantola, à quelques kilomètres de Modène, en Italie, pour un total de factures de plus de 18 000 € (dossier joint). Le moteur, la suspension, les freins, l'échappement, l'équipement électrique ont été vérifiés et réparés et, à cette occasion, le compteur a été remplacé par un instrument gradué en km et qui affiche aujourd'hui 200 km. Une dernière révision a été effectuée en juin 2016. Bien qu'ancienne, la restauration cosmétique a parfaitement bien résisté au temps. A l'extérieur, la carrosserie de teinte "Blu Notte" comme à l'origine affiche une belle profondeur et sied parfaitement à la ligne originale signée Touring, sur un dessin de Franco Scaglione. Réalisée selon sa fameuse technique "Superleggera" comportant un treillis sur lequel sont fixées les tôles, elle porte d'ailleurs le numéro 18956 du carrossier. A l'intérieur, les sièges épais en cuir beige ("senape" à l'origine) invitent à y prendre place, le petit compartiment arrière comportant des lanières destinées à maintenir les bagages en place. La planche de bord noire est impeccable et un autoradio fait face au passager, derrière une commode poignée de maintien. Le grand volant à jante en bois apporte sa touche sportive à cet ensemble d'une grande élégance. Il convient de noter une particularité intéressante de cet exemplaire. Il s'agit en effet d'une version dite "Interim", qui combine la mécanique de la 400 GT et la carrosserie deux places de la 350 GT, plus fine et légère que celle de la 400 GT 2+2 qui a suivi. Elle arbore également les quatre phares de la 400 GT. Mais ce qui est encore plus original est que cet exemplaire bénéficie aussi d'un châssis 400 GT, mieux adapté à la puissance plus importante de ce modèle dont le moteur V12 (conçu par Giottio Bizzarrini) atteint 320 ch, soit 40 de plus que sa devancière. A son époque, c'était une des voitures de tourisme les plus rapides du marché et, selon le propriétaire, le nombre d'exemplaires correspondant à cette configuration très particulière s'est limité à onze unités. Il s'agit donc d'une voiture particulièrement rare, bien préservée et attrayante. Documents coming with the car record the mileage as 46 000 in 1978 and 49 820 in 2012, reflecting its limited use. It was bought five years ago by the current owner, who had the car re-commissioned by the renowned specialist Top Motors, based in Nonantola, a few kilometres from Modena. This task cost some 18 000 € (invoices included with the car). The engine, suspension, brakes, exhaust and electrics were all inspected and refurbished. At the same time, the odometer was changed to one graduated in kilometres and it reads 200 km today. The car was most recently serviced in June 2016. The cosmetic restoration, although carried out some time ago, has resisted the passage of time extremely well. The original colour " Blu Notte " has a beautiful depth and enhances the elegant styling by Touring based on a design by Franco Scaglione. Built using the famous " Superleggera " technique, with lightweight panels attached to a framework of tubes, this car bears the coachbuilder's number 18956. Inside, the plush beige leather seats (originally " senape ") look very inviting, and the compact rear compartment has straps to hold the luggage in place. It has an immaculate black dashboard, and a radio is situated in a compartment opposite the passenger seat. The large wooden steering wheel adds an extra sporty touch to a hugely elegant car. This example is of special interest. It is an " Interim " version that has the mechanical elements of the 400 GT and the two-seater body of the 350 GT, more elegant than the 400 GT 2+2 that followed. It also has the four headlights of the 400 GT. What makes this example even more special is that it has the 400 GT chassis that was better adapted to the greater power of the model's V12 320 bhp engine designed by Giottio Bizzarrini, some 40 bhp more than its predecessor. At the time, it was one of the fastest touring cars available and according to the owner, the number of examples produced in this exclusive configuration was limited to 11. Here is a particularly rare and attractive car that has been very well preserved.
