The Frontin workshop was founded in 1888 on the initiative of Adolphe Frontin, who took over the business of Frontin & Rufié. It produced, amongst other jewels, tableware, snuff boxes and cigarette cases until 1919, when his sons Henri and Robert took over the workshop before going their separate ways in 1922. Henri then continued the family tradition until 1952, also carrying out commissions for Cartier.
