A set of twenty Empire mahogany and ebonised chairs, five of them period

CONDITION REPORT :

Fair overall condition. Firm and sound construction. Some normal wears and marks to the patinated feet, as expected. Some traces of gouging, marks and shocks in places (such as to the upper area of the seatback of some of them as well as to the feet and to the belt).

About the fifteen Empire style chairs : One tiny accident to the right hand side upper area of the seatback of one of them. Traces of restorations to the veneer on the upper right hand side area of the seatback of two other chairs.

About the five Empire chairs : Some shocks to the feet. One accident to the right hand side upper area of the seatback of one of them. Traces of a restored accident to the far lower area of the seatback's left upright of the same chair. Traces of restorations to the veneer on the upper left hand side area of the seatback of another one. One of them has traces of old woodworms, now filled in, on the rear of the seatback. Its rear left hand side foot has been restored. One tiny accident to the left hand side upper area of the seatback of another chair.

Good overall condition to the upholstery. Elegant and decorative set. Ready to be used.
