A Louis XV giltwood mirror

CONDITION REPORT :
Good overall condition despite the inevitable shocks and losses in accordance with age and use. Some losses to the gilding in places, revealing the gesso underneath. Two horizontal splits and one trace of previous restored accident to the mirror's pediment. Some losses to the carving in places (such as to some of the scrolling foliage decorating the exteral frame of the mirror or to the far low upper area of the mirror - internal frame both right and left hand side). One tiny accident to one scrolling foliage to the low right hand side area of the mirror. The mirror plate is foxed and bears some horizontal splits both to the upper and lower area.
