- No reserve
Owned by the same German collector for almost 40 years and having benefited from a high-quality restoration, this XK 140 SE (Special Equipment) is undoubtedly one of the most desirable left-hand-drive examples. Sold new in the United States, it was imported to Germany in February 1986 by Mr K. Palsherm. In 1987, it was sold to a German collector from Bonn, the owner of a bodywork restoration workshop who decided to restore it from top to bottom. It was completely stripped down; the bodywork, mechanical components and interior were meticulously restored, as documented in a photo album. During this process, it was fitted with a five-speed Getrag gearbox to make it easier to drive and better suited for long journeys. The work was completed in 1994 and over the subsequent four years, its owner travelled some 20,000 km. Invoices provide evidence of regular servicing and an engine rebuild in 2009 by KS Motortechnik in Bonn. The engine (No. G9807-8) is consistent with the car’s make and era.
A FIVA certificate of authenticity was issued in 1995 and in 2015, a Classic Data assessment rated it as a grade 1, reflecting the exceptionally high-quality restoration.
In its stunning black paintwork and midnight blue upholstery, this XK 140 SE Roadster will delight its next owner on touring rallies or on casual drives with family or friends.
