- Only one driver from new!
- Less than 34,500km from new
- Up-to-date service history
- A rare ‘Sapphire Red’ colour (ref. 434) from the show car at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show.
A true tribute to its forerunner, the magnificent 300 SL, the SLS adopted the same layout: a two-seat coupé with a front-mounted engine and gullwing doors. Needless to say, its engine had nothing in common with its predecessor's straight-six; it was developed by AMG, which fitted its naturally-aspirated 6.3-litre V8 developing 571bhp at 6800 rpm, giving a 0-100km/h time of 3.8s and a top speed of 317km/h! With only 5000 cars built (4000 coupés and 1000 roadsters), it is a model for collectors, and as soon as it was introduced, it was evident in our client’s mind that one of them had to take its place next to his 300 SL Gullwing. The car was duly ordered in the name of the company ClimAir and delivered at the end of 2010, before being registered in January 2011. Guido Hommel confirmed that he was the car’s only driver throughout this period, and we were able to observe his skill behind the wheel. Its beautiful body is finished in an unusual colour, Sapphire Red (code 434), chosen by the manufacturer for the model's debut presentation at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. Inside, the upholstery is finished in black leather, and a host of options enhance the driving experience: automatic air conditioning, an AMG performance steering wheel, a memory pack for the driver’s seat, steering column and wing mirrors, a DVD player… Beautiful, elegant, yet brutal, the SLS was showing 34,094km from new when we inspected it, and it will be checked over again by Mercedes before being sold. Supplied with its manuals, including that for the Nokia car phone housed in the centre armrest, this extraordinary coupé has a clear history which is consistent with its appearance, low mileage and discerning previous ownership. All qualities that elevate a car above its peers.
