- No reserve
At the dawn of the 1960s, the Scania lorry manufacturer was responsible for distributing Volkswagen vehicles in Sweden. As evidenced by copies of historical documents, it was the Scania dealer in Stockholm who sold this car new in June 1960. Finished in ‘Gris Gallet L440’ colour, it remained in Sweden until 2011, when it was purchased by a German collector. It was from this collector that Guido Hommel acquired the car, impressed by the exceptional condition of this interesting version. Indeed, the bodywork has never been repainted, the upholstery is original and carpets have been redone. Prior to its purchase, the car had extensive work carried out at the specialist workshop Memminger: engine and gearbox rebuild, restoration of all running gear and treatment of the substructure. It only takes one look underneath the car to appreciate the quality of the work carried out. With 89,904 km on the clock at the time of our inspection, this superb Beetle is fitted with a working period Blaupunkt car radio and aftermarket headrests; it also had an inspection carried out in 2024. With its superb patina and fully rebuilt engine, this Beetle will be appreciated by enthusiasts.
