- Interesting AZAM version with ‘suicide’ doors
- Extensive and well-documented restoration
- Original mechanical components
- No reserve
First registered on 13th November 1964, this 2CV is an interesting and rare first-generation AZAM version, easily recognisable by its ‘suicide’ doors, produced between March 1963 and November 1964. Subsequent versions featured front doors with conventional openings. The AZAM version stood out for its more luxurious finish, in response to the launch of the Renault 4. The current owner acquired it in 2017 from a knowledgeable enthusiast who had just restored the original engine. Knowing how sought-after this version was, the owner then had a full restoration of the car carried out. The chassis was replaced with a new, galvanised one – which therefore comes with a lifetime warranty – all flooring components were replaced and the bodywork was stripped down, treated and repainted. Around 250 hours were required for this part of the work. In parallel, mechanical components were restored and any worn parts were replaced wherever necessary. The upholstery was also redone and a file of invoices and photographs illustrates the extent of the work carried out. This AZAM retains all its specific trim features: window trims, bumper trims and guards, mouldings, steering wheel, upholstery… Ready to hit the road, this 2CV will delight enthusiasts of first-generation 2CV models, while benefiting from improvements and the quality finish particular to the AZAM version.
