- Less than 3,000 km from new!
- Only one owner from 1990-2022
- Service books, brochures, two sets of keys
Launched in 1988, the BMW Z1 is already an exceptional model on account of its rarity, its highly innovative construction using composite materials and its doors which drop into the sills. Only 8,000 units of the Z1 were built and it paved the way for the Z-series sports cars.
This example is exceptional as it had only 2,989 km on the clock when we inspected it! Finished in ‘Toprot’ with grey ‘camouflage’ upholstery, it was delivered new on 26 June 1989 to the BMW dealer in Munich, before being registered in Switzerland on 9 March 1990 to an enthusiast who had taken part in the Paris-Dakar Rally on three occasions in the 1980s. He kept the car until 2022, using it very sparingly, as it had covered only 1,904 km at the time of its first service in 2021! A French enthusiast then acquired it at the start of 2022 with 1,911 km recorded, before selling it a few months later to the current owner at 2,417 km. In November 2025, the car was serviced in the BMW dealer network. With its bodywork largely in its original paint (the right front wing has been resprayed), its brochures and books, including the stamped-up service book, two sets of keys and the third service key, this Z1 is one of the lowest-mileage examples in existence and therefore deserves the attention of collectors.
