- One of 22 Le Dandy examples produced in this configuration
- Documented history since new
- Exceptional original condition, 61 years in the same family
This Le Dandy coupe is exceptional in so many ways. Firstly, this version is extremely rare as it is one of only 22 examples produced on the DS 19 chassis with the so-called ‘streamlined’ rear wings. Secondly, it has an exceptional history file, ranging from correspondence between Chapron and the dealer who accompanied his customer to the 1964 Motor Show to place the order, to the Chapron build sheet, the red-crossed production sheet, the owner's manual, the invoice file and a copy of the original registration document. Its first owner (a resident of Saint Raphaël) opted for a model with a lowered windscreen and streamlined wings, in a superb ‘sky blue’ colour combined with a burgundy ‘Pullman’ leather interior. A pair of fog lights and a car radio were also included in the order. The elegant coupe was delivered in December 1964 and one can easily imagine the pride of its owner as he paraded it along the French Riviera. The latter kept it until 1982 before passing it on to his grandson who had a restoration carried out, including repainting it in its original colour. The original engine was also overhauled at the same time. It was then purchased by a Chapron collector in 2020, from whom the current owner (a renowned specialist in the model) was able to acquire it two years ago. The car then benefited from a full service to ensure it was in optimal working order. Original invoices, service notes in the logbook and old roadworthiness test certificates attest to the 105,700 km original mileage of this remarkable collector's item. With its bodywork and chassis in rare original condition, this Dandy coupe is one of the most authentic and elegant on the road. Enthusiasts and aesthetes alike will appreciate this high-quality car.
