A similar example decorated with the same motifs is in the collection of the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum (inv. 1969-170-17). These ikat textiles, resist-dyed and highly complex in execution, were used as temple offerings and also functioned as canopies, typically suspended above the principal Buddha image.
