Introduced in 1956 and based on the Aronde 1300 (90A), the Océane and Plein Ciel were added at the top of the range with elegant cabriolet and coupé bodywork designed and produced by Facel-Métallon. This example, for which the registration document erroneously states that it was first registered in 1955, was purchased by Jean-Pierre Nylin from Artcurial in 2002 to add to his Facel Vega collection. The body and upholstery of this stylish coupé were restored in the past; the engine is a Flash unit to the original specification, despite the Rush rocker cover. The accessories include some handsome spoked wheel trims, a Cristal Grandin radio and a pair of long-range driving lights. The odometer was reading 36,591km at its last safety inspection in 2012, and 36,624km when we inspected the car. In need of recommissioning and servicing, this rare Plein Ciel offers an opportunity to drive an exclusive model, fitted with a reliable engine for which parts are readily available.

Buyers are informed that all vehicles in the collection have seen limited use in recent years, having been part of a museum display. They are therefore sold as-is, require restarting, are not covered by a valid roadworthiness inspection, and will need full recommissioning before being driven on public roads.
