- 45 years in the same family
- Sold new in France
- Very well preserved, original interior
- Recent major mechanical overhaul
This car was bought new in 1973 from the Porsche garage in Vaulx-en-Velin (run by Michel Chazal) by the current owner's father, as a gift for his wife. At the time, the car spent four months of the year in Saint-Tropez, or parked at the family home in Pampelonne. On the death of its owner in 1979, it was sold to a family friend, a lawyer in Lyon, who sold it a few years later to a major Lyon collector, and a surgeon by trade. In 1987, the son of the first owner recognised the car at a traffic light in Lyon, and immediately bought it in memory of his mother and the epic Lyon - Saint-Tropez journeys he fondly remembered. He used it moderately for some thirty years, until an engine problem led to its replacement in 2011. Since then, this Porsche has been regularly serviced, and underwent a major overhaul at Porsche Montpellier in 2023, for a total of €15,000.
So, this car stayed in the same family for 45 years, except for a short interval when it only had two owners in Lyon. Never fully restored, it is in very good condition in its metallic grey. Inside, the all-original seats feature tobacco imitation sides and light beige velvet seating, on darker brown carpets. With its fuel-injected 2.4-litre 6-cylinder, this is an enviable example of an early Porsche 911. In excellent condition, it still has the pure lines and feel that made the reputation of this model, whose prestigious lineage is not about to die out.
