The 612 Sessanta was an important car for Ferrari, as only 60 were built to celebrate the brand's 60th anniversary! Buyers were hand-picked and, to see their order through, had to prove their absolute loyalty to the brand. Such is the case of this Sessanta's owner, Séverin Wunderman, a Belgian businessman and art-lover. Over his lifetime, he built up an extraordinary collection around the figure of Jean Cocteau, which he donated to the Musée de Menton in 2005, having himself moved to the Château de Montfort in La Colle-sur-Loup at the end of his life.
The purchase invoice for the Ferrari, issued in Séverin's name by Pozzi in January 2008, details several additional options: Scuderia badges, electrochromic exterior mirrors, satellite anti-theft and parking sensors. The original equipment is distinguished from standard versions by two-tone paintwork, an electrochromic glass roof, an interior entirely upholstered in high-quality Frau leather, special 19-inch wheels with silver hubs, a Bose sound system...
These features are complemented by the handling of this variant of the Scaglietti, namely a 540 hp, 6-litre V12 engine that accelerates from 0 to 100 kph in 4.2 seconds, to a top speed of 320 km/h.
In “Nero Daytona/Rubino”, this Sessanta features black leather seats with red stitching, trim in both these colours and, on the centre console, a 1993 photo of Jean Todt: in fact, each Sessanta model harks back to a year of the brand, in this case 1993. Seldom used by Séverin Wunderman, who died at the end of 2008, this splendid Sessanta was bought by his lawyer friend, who used it occasionally. Now with less than 17,100 km on the clock and its original documentation, this car is exceptional in its rarity, exclusivity and provenance, and is in near-new condition.
