Delivered new in May 2001 by the BMW van der Moolen dealership in Germany (north of Essen), this Z8 resurfaced in 2008 with just 2,000 km on the clock and in practically new condition. It was then purchased from a dealership in Marseille by its previous owner, a keen car collector. In 2014, its current owner acquired it from the latter; it was superbly preserved at the time and only had a mileage of 8,500 km. As a motocross rider and rally driver based in Nimes, as well as a BMW motorcycle dealer, he had long dreamed of owning this exceptional convertible and treated it with the utmost care, with the same diligence he had learned from his time in motorsport.
He then used it regularly but with caution, since he was also taking out his other two and four-wheeled vehicles; so much so that on the day pictures were taken, it only had a mileage of 19,999 km from new. This Z8 is therefore in stunning condition, with its superb titanium grey metallic paint, barely patinated upholstery and a dashboard which looks like new. Fitted only once by the current owner, the hard top is almost new and the original wind deflector can be found in the boot.
Serviced in 2025 by Tub’Auto, a BMW specialist in Bouillargues (Gard), this gorgeous BMW Z8 is certainly one of the finest examples available on the market. Launched in 2000 as a tribute to the 1955 BMW 507, it’s worth noting that the Z8 was not only beautiful but also extremely powerful thanks to its 400 hp V8 engine which enabled it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds. Its appearance in the 1999 James Bond film The World Is Not Enough helped cement its legendary status in the BMW legacy.
