Régis Laspalès Collection
- Owned by the French humorist Régis Laspalès for 30 years
- Quality restoration, superb patina
- Restarted and serviced in June 2025
Ever since he was a child, actor and comic Régis Laspalès has had a passion for cars and car design. A former fine arts student, now famous comedian, he had habit of visiting garages, and at the end of 1994, he fell in love with this superb Simca 8 Sport Cabriolet for sale at a dealership on Avenue Rapp in Paris: “It was surrounded by more prestigious Ferraris, Aston Martins and Jaguars, but I was immediately won over by its elegance...”. Its previous owner since 1982, was also a man of taste; the artistic director of Chanel perfumes. The car was used a few years later on the poster of a Chevalier and Laspalès show, but it was driven very little due to lack of time. It was restored in 2013, with a new starter motor, tyres and a battery. It has been services and had the brakes done, as evidenced by an invoice. Protected by a bespoke cover, the restored bodywork has a discreet patina that perfectly matches the red leather upholstery. This is a rare and interesting example from the first year of production, with the superb dashboard with central counter and specific rear lights, small details that are a sign of Pinin Farina's talent. We were impressed by the condition of this authentic collector's item, which pays tribute to the model's rare elegance. Connoisseurs will love it.
