Sold new in Germany, it is in fact its condition that makes this Mercedes 280 SE 3.5L exceptional. With a current mileage of 70,371 km, this car has had two owners and has remained entirely original until now. In its original white colour, the bodywork shows no signs of defects and the perfectly preserved substructure has been treated against corrosion. This incredible car has never been involved in an accident and shows absolutely no signs of corrosion. With its beautiful red leather, matching carpets and superb wood dashboard trim, its interior is as it appeared when it left the factory. Equipped with a new blue soft top and a spare tyre that has clearly never been used, it also includes its owner’s manual, service logbook and other documents evidencing its history (all in their original Mercedes folder).

The 280 SE 3.5L is today one of the most sought-after Mercedes touring cars. Its elegantly understated design is matched by a rare level of luxury in both equipment and finish. At the time of its release, it was one of the most expensive models in the Mercedes range, second only to the 600. To ensure its performance lived up to its look and its demanding clientele, Mercedes developed a new 3.5-litre all-alloy V8 engine – lighter and more fuel-efficient than the big 6.3-litre engine used in the 600. Its 200 hp enabled this beautiful machine to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 10 seconds and reach a top speed of 210 km/h.

With only 1,232 examples manufactured, the convertible version is the rarest. As a true invitation for a drive with four passengers and handling as it has just left the factory, this car is without a doubt one of the finest examples of this rare and sought-after model. With the battery disconnected, this Mercedes can spend the winter tucked away in the garage of your Saint-Tropez property; Upon your return in early summer, a turn of the key is all it takes to bring it back to life and whisk you away in style to the famous Saint-Tropez market or to a dance at the VIP Room of our friend Jean Roch! A reliable and versatile automobile, perfect for spending the summer on the French Riviera.
