Notes : The imagery in the present work is derived from the drawing dated iron sculpture Femme se coiffant II, circa 1934 (Merkert, No 156, coll. Moderne Museet, Stockholm). In both drawings a figure is seen holding a small mirror up to her head. The three-pronged horizontal element in the present drawing represents a hair comb.
