This December, Artcurial will host the third edition of its Paris#Marrakech auctions week. For the first time, it will include 4 auctions.
From Constantinople to Tangier, a private Italian collection will highlight La Cueillette by Etienne Dinet among other artworks by Théodore Frère, Eugène Girardet and Jean-Paul Sinibaldi.
an important artwork by Henri Émilien Rousseau and creations by Jacques Majorelle, the most famous painter of the city.
Made in Morocco will be dedicated to Moroccan modern art with historical artists such as Chaïbia, El Glaoui, Gharbaoui and Belkahia.
Finally, African Spirit will stage contemporary African art with a selection of iconic artworks by Seydou Keïta, Chéri Samba, Konate, Kingelez and Ousmane Sow.
Artworks from the PARIS#MARRAKECH auction will be exhibited from 13th to 15th December at the Hôtel Marcel Dassault in Paris and from 27th to 30th December at the Palace Es Saadi in Marrakech. The auction, divided into four chapters, will take place in Paris on Sunday 30th December 2018 with a live broadcast in Marrakech.
Artcurial also organizes the first edition of the Marrakech Art Week - MAW, from 26th December 2018 to 5th January 2019. Eleven major cultural venues in Marrakech - museums, foundations, art galleries and auction houses - will participate in this first edition. Each of these participants will hold a special program for the event with a commune goal: promoting African art.
