Signalling an ambitious year ahead, Artcurial will return to the Riviera next month. The auction house will be at the Hotel Hermitage in the heart of the timelessly elegant Monte-Carlo, during the week of 17 to 21 January. A week which will see a prestigious and exciting line-up including Jewellery, Fine Watches, Le Temps est Féminin and Hermès & Luxury Bags with a selection of rare and exceptional lots offered in six separate auctions.

The jewellery auction, the 6th winter edition in Monaco, will take place on January 20th and will bring together the most desirable signatures on the market: Boivin, Van Cleef, Cartier, Boucheron, Lacloche...etc. Of particular note is the Property of a Lady collection, a wonderful showcase of more than 100 pieces of jewellery signed by the greatest jewellery houses: Cartier, Marina B, Asprey, Garrard and Tiffany. Among the most important lots of the sale: a 5.43 ct Cashemire sapphire, a 29 ct fancy yellow diamond, a blue-green diamond (GIA bluish-green) of more than 3 ct, and other extraordinary precious stones including a marquise of more than 7 ct. A Gilbert Albert necklace and earring set with beetles, rarely seen on the market, will also be on sale.

On January 19th, Artcurial will present an extremely rare Patek Philippe reference 1518 from 1943, one of the most highly sought after models. Vintage Rolex enthusiasts will have the choice between the unmissable Daytona 6264 ‘Paul Newman’ or a ref. 4768 in its steel and rose gold version with full calendar. As for professional watches, two Rolex Submariner ref. 5514 and 16800 delivered to the COMEX in Marseille and coming directly from the original divers, will be sold with their papers, accessories and logbooks.

The Le Temps est Féminin auction will sign its 7th Opus this year. An exceptional private collection will be auctioned, with extremely rare pieces from the iconic House of Cartier, including a 1938 jewellery watch paved with diamonds and onyx, a pendant watch ‘Boule de Genève’ or a 1932 Tank Basculante that belonged to the ‘richest woman in the world’ Barbara Hutton, one of Cartier’s most important clients in the last century. A collection of secrets’ watches will delight lovers of beautiful signatures and technical sophistication: a Gubelin set with coloured pendants and stones, Cartier in acuff version, Van Cleef & Arpels in a 1950s design or Piaget in a full set diamond version.

On January 19th, the emblematic Birkin and Kelly bags will be featured in the Hermès & Luxury Bags auction. More recent models such as the Roulis or the 24/24 will also be offered in this winter session, where a fabulous range of colours will adorn the finest skins. Exceptional pieces will be on display, including a rare Mini Constance in shaded Salvator lizard and several Birkin Touch bags that combine all the characteristics of the ‘must have’: a mini size in a combination of precious skin and classic leather in elegant and sober tones. Finally, limited editions from Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Dior will complete this selection of Hermès bags, creating an eclectic leather goods auction.
