Success for the Moroccan & African Spirit auction
On 1st November 2025, Artcurial orchestrated its Moroccan & African Spirit auction at La Mamounia in Marrakech. Under the hammer of Arnaud Oliveux, the auction totalled over €2M, with two records set for Mohamed Melehi and Marion Boehm.

During the auction, Jacques Majorelle's artworks were once again highly sought after by collectors: Marché sur la place du village, Côte d’Ivoire fetched €184,945 (MAD 1,986,000).
Vague was sold for €166,455 (1,787,400 MAD) and his 1972 work Allah reached €104,810 (MAD 1,125,400), setting a record for a lithograph by the artist.

The three artworks by François-Xavier Lalanne and the five paper gouaches by Baya drew strong interest, achieving a 100% sell-through rate. The works Chromostructure pour Marrakech (2008) by Carlos Cruz-Diez and Lilette dans les feuillages (2013) by Sam Szafran also achieved notable results, selling for €123,299 (MAD 1,324,000) and €147,962 (MAD 1,588,800) respectively.
Finally, in Contemporary African Art, Bodys Isek Kingelez's Stars Palme Bouygues model building, exhibited at MoMA, fetched €28,359 (MAD 304,520), and Marion Boehm's large-scale work Ululation Chorus set a world record for the artist at €30,826 (MAD 331,000).
