The modern section of the auction features an important painting by Odilon Redon: the largest of the artist’s Barques mystiques, which has not appeared on the market since 1933. La Partie de cartes, a pastel on paper dated 1876 and signed by Gustave Caillebotte, is being offered at auction for the first time. Remaining in private hands since its creation, the work was recently unveiled to the public in the Musée d’Orsay exhibition Caillebotte, Peindre les hommes (2024–2025).

The post-war section brings together a selection of exceptional works: a remarkable work on paper by Jean-Michel Basquiat, devoted to the world of the circus and held in the same collection for more than three decades; a large-scale bronze version of César’s Centaure; and a major painting by A.R. Penck, Standart-West KR9 (1982), standing three meters tall and never before offered on the auction market.

Finally, 18 lots from the estate of the artist Kees van Dongen round out this selection of nearly 50 works. Among them is the celebrated 1959 portrait of Brigitte Bardot, immortalising the encounter between two icons of the 20th century.
