Artcurial's Modern & Contemporary Art Sales, held on June 5 and 6, 2025, obtained an overall result of €17.1M including fees, confirming the sustained interest shown by collectors in these specialties.
Three world records were achieved, as well as three pre-emptions by cultural institutions.
One of the highlights of the session was the Philippe Dennery Collection, which sold 100% of its lots for a total of €5.4M.
Zao Wou-Ki's masterpiece Ville Verte, a monumental canvas painted in 1952, sold for €3.5M, underlining the historical and artistic importance of this exceptional work.

The Impressionist & Modern Department also stood out, achieving nearly €7.4M in three auctions, highlighting several private collections. The highest bid of the sessions, Rembrandt Bugatti's bronze sculpture, Cerf bramant suivi par une biche et son faon (1903), set a world record for a deer by the artist sold at auction, fetching €1.1M.
A defining feature of these June sales was the dispersal of exceptional private collections, such as that of dealer and publisher Christophe Czwiklitzer, which fetched €1.4M with two pre-emptions from the Musée Zadkine, and the group of works from the Villa Vandevelde in Uccle, Belgium, which sold for €2.2M.

Another highlight of this week of sales was Shirley Jaffe's La Basilique, which delighted collectors by setting a new world record for the artist at €328,000.
The Twenty One Contemporary Sale also attracted a great deal of interest, both live and online.
The work of Guillaume Bresson, a young talent on the French emerging scene, achieved a very fine result of €104,960, as did Wild style letter R - 1990 by Rammellzee, a major figure in New York graffiti, which sold for €78,720.
These June sales, have once again confirmed Artcurial's expertise in valuing works of art, both classic and contemporary, thanks to the expertise of its teams.

On June 25, Artcurial Beurret Bailly Widmer in Basel will organize its traditional Modern and Contemporary Art sale with works by Henri Manguin, Paul Signac and Pierre-Auguste Renoir.
On the other hand, the Selected 20/21 prestige sale will be held on the 25th of October in parallel of the Art Basel Paris fair, bringing together the most emblematic works by 20th and 21st century artists in the salons of the Hôtel Marcel Dassault.
