On December 9th and 10th, the Impressionist & Modern Art, Post-War & Contemporary Art, and Twenty-One Contemporary auctions totalled €11,245,009 including fees.

Among the highlights of these sessions were a panel painted in 1889 by Paul Gauguin, titled Danse bretonne and rediscovered after more than forty years, which reached €1,006,240. The oil on canvas Untitled (Head of a woman – Lisa Sainsbury) by Francis Bacon was sold for €1,475,355.
Within the Impressionist & Modern Art auction, a 1874 work by Eugène Boudin depicting the quays of Bordeaux sold for €291,280, while bronze sculptures of leopards and of a mare with her foal by Rembrandt Bugatti achieved €264,800 and €238,320 respectively.
In the Post-War & Contemporary Art sale, Arman’s bronze accumulation of violins and bows, Baroquial II, was sold for €111,364. The auction was also marked by a pre-emption by the Museum of Art and History of Judaism in the City of Paris.

The Twenty-One Contemporary sale saw Amnesia and Memory Series by Zhang Xiaogang find a buyer for €86,060, while Three Children and TV by Aboudia changed hands for €70,172.
The session further included the sculpture collection of the Château de Vascoeuil, located in the Eure region, which totalled €722,110. Remarkable results included Hommage à l’Hexagone, an enamelled lava work by Victor Vasarely sold for €125,780, as well as Salvador Dalí’s bronze sculpture La Victoire de la Liberté, a tribute to Bartholdi, which achieved €72,820.
