Artcurial Supports the Exhibition of Argentine Artist Ana Pérez Grassano at the 2024 Venice Biennale

Following two exhibitions in 2022 at the Orangerie du Sénat in Paris and the Consulate General of Argentina in New York City, Artcurial supports the new exhibition by Franco-Argentine artist Ana Pérez Grassano. On the occasion of the 2024 Venice Biennale, Ana Pérez presents paintings and glass sculptures created in collaboration with glassmaker Aristide Najean. Supported by the Argentine embassy in Italy, the exhibition will run until November 24, 2024, on the island of Murano.

In parallel with the 2024 Venice Biennale, Ana Pérez Grassano is exhibiting several works created in collaboration with Aristide Najean in his studio on the island of Murano. Among them, the oil painting "La Résilience" reinterprets the Gothic tradition with gilding and a vibrant palette reminiscent of Venetian costumes. The chromatic explosion of this painting reflects the artist's intimate experience and resonates with the history and values of her country. In collaboration with Aristide Najean, she creates imaginary characters, animals, and objects that invite the viewer to escape and reconnect with joy, an intimate resource in the face of adversity.

Aristide Najean, French Master Glassmaker

Born in Paris, Aristide Najean moved to Murano in 1986 to learn the island's renowned glassmaking techniques. Initially a painter, he adopted glass as his preferred material, incorporating elements from both disciplines into his works. His creations, blending bold brushstrokes with the delicate finesse of glass, illustrate human nature with passion and light.

Committed to his role as an artist, he opens his studio to schools and students to share his passion. In 1995, he founded a publishing company to promote sculpture in everyday life. Since 2011, he has collaborated with architects and developers to integrate art into communal spaces of buildings, believing that this enhances the quality of life for residents.
