Artcurial is pleased to participate in the charity sales for the benefit of the association of Cap Moderne. This commitment reflects the attention paid by the auction house in social issues and of our contemporary society. This is how Artcurial commits itself each year alongside associations by providing its expertise and by organizing charity auctions, including sums collected are directly paid back to these associations.
What motivates us in this project is giving our support to carry on with the restoration of the Villa E-1027, a 20th century architectural icon.
Under the initiative of the president of the Cap Moderne association, the dynamic Michael Likierman, two charity auctions around Eileen Gray are organized.
Many lots will be presented at auction including objects that used to belong to Eileen Gray and offered by generous donors anxious to preserve the artist’s work. Among those artworks, an element of the famous brick-screen by Eileen Gray will be presented.
The first part of the auction (from lot 1 to 28) is presented in an Online Only auction from 7th to 18th June and is open to everyone.
This auction also presents the opportunity to discover an important photography ensemble. Through their camera, Kasper AKHØJ, François Halard and Manuel Bougot are giving their personal testimony of this place that became timeless. In order to add an extra-special something with a unique experience, you can buy at auction a dinner, night and breakfast in the Villa E-1027 with an incredible view.
