Adrien Durban, Managing Director of Artcurial Motorcars USA
To support its development in the United States, Artcurial has appointed Adrien Durban as Managing Director of Artcurial Motorcars USA. Starting August 1, his mission has been to grow the house’s activities in the American market and strengthen relationships with collectors, dealers, and partners.
With more than twenty-five years of experience in the collectible automobile industry across Europe and the United States, Adrien Durban has served an international clientele at RM Sotheby’s and then Bonhams Cars, where he established himself as a specialist in the sale, acquisition, and management of exceptional collections.
He will be supported by Edward Fallon, a consultant to Artcurial Motorcars in the United States for several years, whose knowledge of the American market will be a major asset for this new chapter.
“Joining Artcurial Motorcars felt like an obvious choice. I was drawn to its exacting standards, its vision of the market, and the trust it has built with collectors. I am pleased to put my experience toward its development in the United States and to support American collectors in their projects.”
- Adrien Durban, Managing Director Artcurial Motorcars USA
Led since 2010 by Matthieu Lamoure and Pierre Novikoff, Artcurial Motorcars has made auction history with several memorable sales, including the dispersal of the legendary Baillon Collection, the Ferrari 335 S Scaglietti sold for $35,711,359 / €32,075,200, the Alfa Romeo 8C 2900 Berlinetta Touring sold for $18,922,528 / €16,388,000, and the recent records set by the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing, sold for $5,279,107 / €4,407,800, as well as the Mercedes-Benz 600 Pullman Landaulet, sold for $3,973,928 / €3,475,200.
Beyond these results, Artcurial Motorcars has built its approach on expertise, closeness, and trust, paying particular attention to the history, provenance, and uniqueness of each automobile.
“Having developed Artcurial Motorcars in Europe, expanding into the United States, the world’s leading market for collectible automobiles, felt like a natural next step. With Miami, we are moving closer to American collectors to offer them the same expertise, proximity, and trust that define Artcurial Motorcars’ identity.”
