Unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in 1948, the Citroën 2 CV would leave a lasting mark on French automotive history. Designed around the principles of simplicity, economy, and durability, it combined an air-cooled two-cylinder engine with an ingenious long-travel suspension, providing remarkable comfort and ease of handling on the rough roads of the time. In 1954, the 2 CV was equipped with an engine increased to 425 cm³, which remained a staple across the model’s various iterations throughout the decade. Models from the 1950s are particularly prized today for their appearance, which remains very close to that of the earliest 2 CVs.

Dating from 1957, the car offered here embodies all the charm of those early generations. It features the characteristic corrugated hood as well as the small taillights typical of that period. Its interior is upholstered in attractive striped fabric combining two shades of green, perfectly in keeping with the model’s spirit. This 2 CV has undergone a complete restoration and is now in superb condition. The bodywork, interior, and finishing touches all attest to the care taken in its restoration.

The current owner bought it four years ago in the Netherlands, shortly after its restoration was completed, with the intention of using it at his property in Saint-Tropez. Since he is too busy with his work, he won’t have much opportunity to use it and would rather pass it on to a passionate collector.
