1962 Ferrari 250 GTE Pininfarina

The 315th Ferrari 250 GTE built, this car left the factory on 25 January 1962, before being dispatched to the Garage Francorchamps, the importer for Belgium, who in turn delivered it on 15 February 1962 to its first owner, Alfred Stevens, who lived in Belgium. It was finished in Oro Chiaro (‘Beige 16536MM’) with beige leather upholstery (‘Naturale 3309’). Sold in 1970 to Paul Noakes in England, it was then exported to the United States in 1983, to Paul M. Nacol, who had it repainted in red. In 1988, it was bought by Patrick E. Bush, from Gibsonia in Pennsylvania, who had it restored by Bob Smith Coachworks in Gainesville. At the time, it was red, with a beige interior.

Bush kept the car for nearly 30 years and took part in a great many meetings: the Annual Ferrari Club of America National Meeting and Concours in 1994, 1996, 1997, 1999, 2001 and 2005, twice winning second prize in his class and on one occasion the ‘Grand Touring 2+2 Award’, the 250 GTE gathering at the Concorso Italiano at Carmel in 1994, the Ferrari Club of America Rally in 2001, and the historic races at Barber Motorsports Park in 2008 and 2009, winning the prize from the public.

After this life well lived, the car was bought by Thierry Dehaeck, who brought it back to its country of departure and set about an exemplary restoration, which was carried out to a very high standard by a Belgian specialist over several years and returned the car to its original colours of Oro Chiaro with beige upholstery. The quality of the work must be emphasised: the car is in remarkable overall condition and the restoration has the benefit of being thoroughly documented. In addition, the car has just received its Ferrari Classiche certification, confirming that it was restored to the highest standards, to its original specification, with matching numbers and in its original colour.

Sold with a history file including Ferrari's invoice to the Garage Francorchamps, two catalogues from the period, an owner’s manual and FIVA ID card, Marcel Massini’s report as well as its Ferrari Classiche certification, this 250 GTE has covered only 1500km since its restoration. It is presented today in superb condition which is a credit to the technical, aesthetic and driving qualities of this classic model from Ferrari’s history.
