- Restauration de grande qualité
- Version rare, 107 exemplaires seulement

1961 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II Convertible
Officially referred to as the ‘Convertible Coupé’ in the Rolls-Royce catalogue, only 107 examples of this rare version were produced by the coachbuilder H.J. Mulliner. Built on 5 May 1961 to American specifications, with electric windows, a Blaupunkt radio, Hirschmann electric aerial, wool carpets and a strengthened chassis, the car was sent to the Californian dealer Peter Satori, who delivered it on 2 October to its first owner, Gordon Miles Copp, from Newport Beach in California. It subsequently changed hands twice and in 1980, it was bought by Vintage Car Store, near New York, who restored it and fitted a new hood, at 14,619 miles. It then had several owners in the United States before returning to Europe in 2007, where it was offered for sale by Brabo Cars at Hillegom in Holland. On 4 September 2012, it became part of Thierry Dehaeck’s collection, helping to build the prestigious family of three generations of the Silver Cloud convertible.
In 2014, it underwent a full restoration: the body was completely stripped down and the body, mechanical components and electrical system were rebuilt, with the entire process documented with numerous photographs and bills. The condition of the Silver Cloud today is commensurate with the work carried out, with superb black paintwork and a tobacco-brown leather interior.
In addition, it comes with an exceptionally comprehensive history file containing many valuable documents: its factory build sheet with numerous details such as the report on the test drive and final inspection, a certificate from the Sir Henry Royce Memorial Fondation, the owner’s manual, a wiring diagram, several rare catalogues from the period, old registration papers, its FIVA ID card, bills and numerous photographs and roadbooks from the national and international rallies in which it took part.
It will be able to continue doing so in the hands of its new owner, thanks in particular to its pleasant V8 engine, which replaced the straight-six of the first Silver Cloud. Extremely elegant, it stood above all other cars in the world and remains to this day a symbol of the utmost luxury.
