L’exemplaire proposé est sorti de production en juin 1998. Il allie une carrosserie de couleur « New Aluminium metallic » à un intérieur tout noir. Comme le précise le certificat Lotus, il fut livré neuf par la concession AutoSpeak à Modène en Italie avec les options peinture métallisée, air conditionné, pavillon en Alcantara et sièges en cuir. Bien que produite en 1998, elle ne fut mise en circulation qu’en 2002. Vendue par Maître Poulain en 2008, elle fut acquise en 2017 par son avant dernier propriétaire, collectionneur exigeant. En très bel état de conservation, la voiture a bénéficié en 2015 d’un très important entretien mécanique, réalisé par le groupe Verbaere Automobile dans le Nord, concessionnaire pour la marque et alors propriétaire du véhicule. Celle-ci figurait en bonne place dans le showroom afin d’illustrer l’histoire emblématique de la marque. Parmi les nombreux travaux réalisés à l’époque, citons le remplacement de la distribution, de l’embrayage, des amortisseurs arrière, et une réfection des turbos le tout pour un montant de plus de 19 000 €.

En 2019, alors qu’elle affichait 54 120 km au compteur, la voiture fut vendue à son précèdent propriétaire, un important collectionneur italien. Ce dernier lorsqu’il reçut la voiture alla faire un essai routier sur ses routes habituelles. Il fut impressionné par les performances de la voiture, mais étant déjà octogénaire il trouva la voiture un peu trop dure en suspension. Il exposa alors la voiture dans sa collection de façon statique. Par manque d’usage, alors qu’elle affichait 54 164 km, il remis en vente son Esprit chez Artcurial en octobre 2023. Elle fut alors achetée par un grand chef passionné d’Automobile sportive. Ce dernier a récemment effectué une révision complète de la voiture chez un spécialiste de la région du Mans, YF Historic Racing, afin de pouvoir reprendre sereinement la route. La courroie de distribution a été changé et les trains roulants revus (facture de 7 332 € dans le dossier).

 

La voiture affiche aujourd’hui au compteur 55 139 km, et se trouve dans un bel état de présentation. Particulièrement désirable avec son kit de carrosserie rappelant la série limité Sport 350, avec son aileron et ses bas de caisse spécifiques, cette GT mythique sera aussi passionnante à conduire.

The car on offer came out of the production line in June 1998. It features a "New Aluminum metallic" body colour and a full black interior. As mentioned in the Lotus certificate, it was delivered new by the AutoSpeak dealership in Modena, Italy with the following options: metallic paint, air-conditioning, Alcantara roof lining and leather seats. Although produced in 1998, it was only registered in 2002. Sold by Maitre Hervé Poulain in 2008, it was acquired by its second-to-last owner in 2017, a demanding collector. In a very good condition, the car had a significant mechanical overhaul in 2015, carried out by the group Verbaere Automobile in the North, a dealer for the brand and then owner of the vehicle. It featured prominently in the showroom to illustrate the brand's iconic history. Some of the refurbishment executed at the time included the replacement of the distributor, clutch, rear shocks, and the repair of the turbos, all for an amount of more than €19,000.

 

In 2019, when it had 54,120 km on the clock, the car was sold to its previous owner, a major Italian collector. When he took delivery of the car, he went out for a test drive on his usual roads. He was impressed by its performance, but he was already in his eighties and found the suspension a bit too hard. He therefore put the Lotus on static display in his collection. Due to lack of use, with 54,164 km on the odometer, he put his Esprit up for sale at Artcurial in October 2023. It was then purchased by a renowned chef with a passion for sports cars. He recently had the car undergo a complete overhaul at a specialist workshop in Le Mans by YF Historic Racing garage, in order to be able to resume driving safely. The timing belt has been changed in June 2026 (invoice of 7332€).

 

The car now has 55,139 km on the odometer and is in very good condition. Particularly desirable with its body kit reminiscent of the limited-edition Sport 350 series, featuring a spoiler and specific side skirts, this legendary GT will also be a thrill to drive.
