With less than 10,000 examples produced, the Borgward Isabella is undoubtedly the most sought-after Borgward in this coupe version. It featured a seamless American-style design, high-performance engine capable of reaching 150 km/h, as well as modern handling thanks to its monocoque body.
This particular example seems to have been sold new in France and benefited from a restoration carried out between 2003 and 2009, including an engine rebuild. During this period, the bodywork was repaired and then repainted in a combination of red and cream colours to highlight the car’s design. The upholstery and floor mats were also restored. The car was subsequently sold at auction in 2009, before joining Guigo Hommel's collection; he was particularly fond of these cars when he was younger. A closer look at this exotic car reveals chrome parts in excellent condition; the car retains its original badges and specific accessories, with the exception of one wheel hubcap. The interior and dashboard exude quality; accessories include a Blaupunkt car radio and a rear windscreen deflector. Not having been driven for several years, this elegant coupe has just been brought back to life by the collection’s mechanic and is now waiting for a new owner to inspire admiration and amazement wherever it goes.
